What is the Final Mile?
The Operation Smile Shamrock Final Mile is a one-mile race designed for elementary school aged children. This event is the culmination of an ongoing running and walking program. Children complete a total of 25.2 miles at school and at home in the weeks leading up to the Shamrock Marathon Weekend and run the “final mile” of their 26.2 mile marathon on race day crossing the same finish line that welcomes marathoners the following day.
