Participants are encouraged to run their race in Virginia Beach, Virginia from March 19-21, 2021. Official timed courses will all start and finish under the watchful eye of King Neptune on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. There is a race distance for every goal: Marathon, Half Marathon, 8K, and challenges. No matter the distance, you’ll experience the best of Coastal Virginia on our flat, fast, and scenic course before you cross the finish line overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
If you can’t make it to Virginia Beach, don’t worry! You can run your race anytime or anywhere during race weekend.
Please adhere to all social distancing guidelines when on course. We ask that you wear a mask before and after starting your race, and anytime when you are not able to be socially distanced. If you are feeling sick, we ask that you stay home and run your race at a later date.
All aspects of this Yuengling Shamrock Race Weekend experience are subject to change as they are dependent upon state and city guidelines.

What COVID-19 procedures will be in place?
The safety of our participants, staff, and volunteers is our top priority. We are in constant communication with both the State of Virginia and the City of Virginia Beach, and we will adhere to all COVID-19 recommendations event weekend. Participants will receive communication prior to the event that reflects the current safety protocols.
Do you have free training plans?
Does the 2021 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend count towards the 2021 Coastal Virginia Half Marathon Series?
Yes! The 2021 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend is the kick off to the 2021 Coastal Virginia Half Marathon Series. Anyone registered for the Marathon, Half Marathon, Dolphin Challenge, or Whale Challenge is qualified for this series.
Does the 2021 Shamrock Experience count towards my legacy status?
Yes! You must be a registered participant in the 2021 event to continue your Shamrock legacy.
When can I expect to receive my race swag?
All race swag will be mailed by March 12, 2021 via USPS. Participants may also opt-in for an in-person packet pickup option. Packet pickup options will be available in early 2021.
Can I switch race distances?
You may switch from your current Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend race to one of our other Shamrock Marathon Weekend races distances. If you a switching to a shorter distance, you will not receive a refund if there is a lower registration fee. If you are switching from the 8K to the Half Marathon or Full Marathon or from a single race to the challenge, you must pay the difference in race fee from what you initially paid for your original category to your new race category at the time of the switch.

What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
There are absolutely NO refunds, even in the event of a race cancellation. No exceptions, not even for acts of God. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will NOT receive a refund. Race numbers and entries cannot be transferred to another person.

Can I participant if I am unable to be in Virginia Beach for race weekend?
You can be participate virtually in the 2021 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend. Run anytime an anyplace during our race dates, and upload your results to be listed as a 2021 finisher.
How will timing working for the official course?
Chip timing will be available for participants who want to run the official course and receive an official finish time. Bibs with a timing chip must be picked up prior to running the course. Time and location of pick up will be announced in early 2021.
Is the course certified?
While the plan is to have all of the official courses measured, results will not be able to count toward qualifying for other events. Given the nature of an open course, we are not able to certify results for qualifying times such as a Boston Qualifying time.
