Feeling extra energetic this year? Then the Whale Challenge might be for you! Whale Challenge participants run the TowneBank Shamrock 8K on Saturday followed by the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon on Sunday. All Whale Challenge finishers will receive a Whale Challenge medal at the event in recognition of their special achievement.

Make the most of your weekend by taking on two races! Dolphin Challenge participants will run the TowneBank Shamrock 8K on Saturday followed by the Sentara Shamrock Half Marathon on Sunday. Dolphin Challenge finishers will receive a special challenge medal on Sunday to recognize their Dolphin Challenge achievement.

In order to be in the Challenge, you must register for the Challenge category at the time of registration. If you register for the 8K and the half marathon or the 8K and the marathon separately, you will NOT be included in the Challenge.
