Virginia Beach Sherriff Office Community Fund
The Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office Community Fund is designed to support a variety of needs for citizens within the resort city, especially those targeting children. The many contributions to the Community Fund include direct donations from VBSO employees through the annual United Way giving campaign as well as contributions made from outside organizations. These donations sustain an on-going commitment to our citizens through food baskets at the holidays, monetary support for the annual Shop-With-A-Cop program to benefit needy school-age children, an annual end-of-year picnic for students and their mentors at a local elementary school, support for the Little League Challenger Baseball Program and other children's athletic programs, just to name a few. The fund also supplements D.A.R.E. program efforts aimed at preventing and reducing drug abuse and violence among school children and youth.
