The Virginian Pilot Joy Fund

Since 1934 the Joy Fund has been bringing holiday happiness and gifts to nearly 26,000 underprivileged children in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, City of Franklin, Virginia's Eastern Shore and Isle of Wight County. Names of needy children are compiled by schools, social service agencies and churches and given to The Salvation Army. With the Salvations Army's help, a parent will have the opportunity to choose gifts for their child or children for the holidays. By giving to the Joy Fund, you're giving kids in need something precious--holiday dreams come true. Every penny you give goes to the children because all of the Joy Fund's operational costs are paid for by The Virginian-Pilot.
